Durbanville Golf Club, Jip De Jager Drive, Durbanville, Cape Town / Situated in Cape Town's Northern Suburbs, the Durbanville Golf Club is situated in a valley and the golfer will find that there are some considerable slopes to tackle during the round. There are two compensating factors for climbing some of these slopes - the magnificent views from high vantage points and the standards of the shapely greens that provide a memorable putting experience throughout the course.

Historically the Durbanville course was very wet in winter, but in recent times a programme to include storm water drains has resulted in a much-improved venue both in winter and summer. The improvements are not only reflected in the drainage, but also in the attention to detail throughout the course. From the opening short and narrow par four blind tee shot the whole experience will be of a quality round of golf.

SIGNATURE HOLE
The signature hole is the 12th Hole -Par 3 - 149 metres. Catch your breath and enjoy the view over the dam before playing this tricky par 3. The tee, situated on the dam wall, sits between willow trees and the reeds fronting it. Your shot is to a green left of the dam, with any slice, push or fade guaranteed to result in your ball finding a watery grave. Too short a shot will see a steep bank rolling your ball back to the water. A large flat bunker. to the left of the green may catch the less than sure, but safe, shot. Pine trees of varying sizes provide a picturesque backdrop.

FEATURES OF THE CLUB HOUSE
Facilities at Durbanville Golf Club include a lounge bar with a view across the course to the distant mountains. The halfway house and catering facility offer freshly prepared snack style food. Outside seating area are under thatched gazebos. The Club house offers a venue for groups, societies, corporate and company days.
